In October 2018, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) published a report summarizing over 6000 scientific publications that were analyzed. The report is without appeal, global warming is underway and it is mainly the result of unreasoned human activity. The consequences for all ecosystems are alarming. Melting ice, rising sea levels, decreasing ocean salinity and global warming across the globe endanger the fragile natural balance. At the same time, overexploitation of fishing grounds, poaching and massive deforestation rush the animal and plant world towards extinction.
At the same time, areas of conflict are increasing, attacks on fundamental freedoms and human rights are exploding and discrimination is increasing. Areas of tension, particularly linked to the prospect of massive climate migrations, are fear a conflagration of some already damaged areas. The populist movements, pronouncing in-between, are gaining ground from the surfing of peoples’ anxiety for an uncertain future.
Finally, the international governmental organizations, being controlled by the states and defending particular interests, are bogged down in immobility.
It is with this dark observation that the NGO Enaura works to fight against the ravages of human activity on nature and on men themselves.
